As a professional electrical engineer for many years before becoming an intellectual property lawyer, Joe gained experience in a wide range of engineering, design, and marketing disciplines. He now uses that experience to expertly draft, file, and prosecute applications for patents, trademarks, and industrial designs.

Joe has drafted and prosecuted patent applications covering a number of technologies including patent applications for wireless devices, energy management systems, batteries, automotive systems, mining equipment, software applications, user interfaces, electronics, communication systems, medical devices, unmanned aerial vehicles, industrial equipment, augmented/virtual reality systems, artificial intelligence systems, apparel, and wearable tech. Trademarks associated with consumer goods, industrial goods, software, sportswear, retail, fashion, and apparel are his specialties. Joe’s industrial design drafting and prosecution experience extends from display screens and icons to containers, furniture, vehicles, consumer electronics, fashion, and apparel.

He has worked for some of the largest and best known innovative and creative organizations in the world. At the same time, Joe recognizes that many of the best and most valuable inventions, brands, and designs are generated by smaller start-up companies.
